The city of Vancouver Canada is adorned by hundreds of public art installations...probably thousands. AnimateVancouver.com [David John Suggitt & Team] have begun animating each piece using a stop-motion technique of frame-by-frame high-resolution photography. The results are stunning, innovative, and beautiful.
One way to fund this project is the $120,000 Absolut Vancouver arts competition by Absolut Vodka of Sweden. We applied and are currently one of the five finalists! BC residents are asked to vote for one of the five at AbsolutVancouver.ca until March 15, 2010. The winner(s) will be announced March 31, 2010
"With the $120,000 funding from Absolut Vodka [Absolut Vancouver], we will photographically animate the major public Art, sculptures, architectural landmarks and features of this Absolutely beautiful city. This perfect record of Vancouver’s art is a bold effort to engage public vision and create a legacy for future generations of artists and art lovers in our beautiful city." This is our proposal video, using animations created over the past three years. Please vote for this proposal at AbsolutVancouver.ca |
